UPDATES

This section will provide updated information on special events and arranged entertainment, in the pub and restaurant. Also special offers, and general events and info. relating to the village and local area.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - UPDATE 27TH JULY 2020
Following the long period of closure during the COVID19 lockdown, we have decided that the TEMPLE BAR INN will REMAIN CLOSED until it is sold.

The TEMPLE BAR INN was put on the market for sale in June 2019, as Chris and Sue approached retirement. Several parties were interested in purchasing the business....and then the COVID19 virus hit. This has meant that our retirement plans were put on hold in March 2020.

As the UK comes further out of lockdown, we have reappraised our situation and priorities, and have decided to continue with our retirement plans, whilst the pub is still for sale.
Normal retirement plans would have included a big leaving party at the pub....but we are not living in normal times, and this cannot happen yet.

We hope to see, or speak, to many of you before we move to Portugal, and we intend to return regularly, wishing better times ahead for all.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE DUE TO CORONAVIRUS (COVID19) DISEASE - UPDATE 07/04/2020
The Pub and Restaurant will remain CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
Our reopening date will depend on UK and Welsh Government advice.
We will advise when this will happen.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE DUE TO CORONAVIRUS (COVID19) DISEASE - UPDATE 17/03/2020
As the Coronavirus disease continues to spread throughout the UK, we have decided to close the pub and restaurant, with immediate effect, for the next 3 weeks, potentially reopening Tuesday 7th April 2020.
We should point out that neither Chris nor Sue, nor any of our staff are exhibiting any coronavirus systems, so recent customers should have no need to worry.

We believe this is a sensible course of action, ahead of possible government action in this respect, in order to protect ourselves, all staff, and customers from any adverse contact on our premises.

Many individuals and businesses are having to make huge sacrifices to help reduce the spread of this virus. Going to the pub, for a drink or meal, is a non essential activity, and we believe this is the right action to take now in the best interests of our community.
We will continue to monitor the situation, and will be guided by any UK or Welsh government directives which may affect us further.

If anyone wishes to discuss any future functions, please contact us by telephone (or leave a message on the answer machine).

Any further changes, caused by the situation improving, or getting worse, will be notified on the website, on our Facebook page, and by notice at the front of the pub.

CHANGE TO OPENING TIMES

From October 1st 2012, the restaurant and bar will be closed on Monday evenings, and no food will be served.
However, we will open for agreed bookings made for groups or parties, on Monday evening,
or at any other times by arrangement.
